Pu erh / Oolong.

Pu erh tea, or dark tea is the only tea that contains probiotics ( good microbes ) Pu erh can be aged for many years and when done increases in value  over the years like whiskey.. Pu erh tea  most commonly comes in a cake or brick form but can come in loose leaf as well.   Pu erh continues to ripen and age over time, so can be kept for many years and tasted each year to experience the new flavours.

 

Oolong tea, is produced in  China Fujian province and on the Taiwan mountainsides.  It is a semi oxidized tea  that uses the mature leaves which undergo  rigorous processing. They are withered  for a few hours then shaken  to burse the leaves and damage the cell walls. The oxidization process can go on for hours  or until the tea master  decides  that the tea reached the correct oxidation level. The leave are then fired rolled and fired again to form a small pellet  from the dark twisted leaves. 


Yellow Tea is very rare but well worth looking for , this tea is made using the youngest buds. It is grown only in China and there are only a few yellow types of tea  available. Yellow tea is rich in polysaccharides and vitamins that are good for you. 


Kenyan Tea


Kenyan  Milima  Black Tea

Milima is the only tea factory in East Africa that produces our orthodox style of black leaf tea. Our orthodox tea is picked during the cooler months of June / July  as the bushes growth is slow, the tea then develops a distinctive floral note and quality which is at its best. the leaves a picked first thing in the morning  then gently rolled  to give the floral character. As a top grade tea our Milima  contains plenty of golden tips providing a delicious  cup of tea.

Kasabei TGFOP Black Tea  ( Kenya) 

Kenya Kasabei is  one of the finest teas produced in Kenya. Grown at high altitudes it has a classic Kenyan profile of being gentle and astringent yet with notes of malt, currant and moist earth. As a TGFOP, Kosabei is absolutely an outstanding delicious tasting tea. One of those tea you should always have in the store cupboard.


Kenyan Milima GFBOP

Kenya Milima is processed at the only factory in East Africa which produces the orthodox style leaf of black tea. During the cooler months of June and July when the bush growth is slow, the tea leaves develop the Milima distinctive floral character and quality is at its best.  The leaves are plucked first thing in the morning, then gently rolled to maintain the floral character and take on the twisted leaf appearance. After 3 separate rolls, the leaves are left to oxidise, dried and then sorted into grades. As the top grade our Milima contains plenty of golden tips yielding a delicious cup of tea.

Our carefully selected blend of high mountain  second flush  black tea, grown on the upper slopes of this region  is a remarkable fresh aromatic tea with subtle aroma and taste.


This tea was blended  to be used as a light breakfast tea.

Chinese Black Dragon Pearls

This tea is a rear hand rolled black tea from the Yunnan province of China This tea is the black tea version of the Jasmine Pearl.

Black Dragon Pearl tea only uses the best possible leaves to make this tea so they have many of the golden tips ( buds) as seen in our photo.

This tea is sweet smooth with a hint of earthiness and then followed by cocoa notes. It is recommended that you only use 2-3 pearls per cup of tea and yes re-infuse  again for a second time to get a lighter floral note.

 

Russian Caravan Black Tea Blend

This blended black tea has teas  from  China, High Mountain Ceylon, and India  that evokes  thoughts of the open fire. This tea is an aromatic full-bodied tea with a sweet malty after taste.

Ceylon Sarnia BOP

This Ceylon black loose leaf tea from the Sarnia Estate and  is a BOP broken leaf ( best orange pekoe ) it is a extraordinary quality breakfast tea.


Sarnia BOP  is made as a broken leaf tea which means the leaves are processed by hand yes by hand but are broken to create smaller  pieces  and a larges surface area which in turn make it easier to brew  an excellent breakfast tea.

Assam Blended Black Tea

Our Assam blended tea is a great English breakfast tea with the tea being grown in a climate of cool and dry winters , then hot and humid throughout the summer( growing season) ideal for growing  sum of the best teas. Because of Assam's long growing season and heavy rainfall, Assam is a Prolific tea producing area. Our TGFOP ( top grade flowery orange pekoe) second flush tea blend come from  sum of the best tea estates in Assam. This high caffeine tea with an intense flavour makes it ideal for that first cupa in the morning.


Vietnam  OP Black Tea 

OP Grade Loose leaf Black Tea from Vietnam This tea is much like a Chinese black tea in both appearance and liquor. However unlike Chinese black teas this Vietnam black tea is much spicier. The spiciness is a result of the unique oxidation and drying process. I would compare this to a high grown Ceylon Black tea perfect with or without milk Ingredients 100% Vietnam Black Tea OP (Orange Pekoe ) Brewing tip 2-3g per 150-200ml hot water, 85-95c steep for 2.30 minutes to 3 minutes.


Lapsang souchong Black Tea  

The production for Formosa Lapsang begins by withering the freshly picked tea over pine and oak fires. The leaves are then pan fired and each leaf rolled by hand before being pressed and covered by cloths in wooden barrels. After fermenting, the leaves are then rolled again and hung in bamboo baskets over burning pine boughs to dry. The resultant flavour of smoky pine and oak fires, combined with the high quality of leaf used, makes Formosa Lapsang one of the world's finest teas.


Masala Chai Spiced Black Tea 

This Indian spiced black tea ( Masala) is a aromatic beverage made of black tea from India ( Assam) and mixed spices. Masala Chai differs from region to region our version of this classic Indian street tea is made from Assam black tea, cardamom green cinnamon,. clove ginger and star anise. The blend only contains 100% raw natural ingredients. we advice that you turn your chai over several time before using it to insure it is fully mixed.


Santosa BOP Black Tea from Java 

Santosa is at the forefront of Indonesian tea production and this BOPS tea is a wonderful example. Produced during Java's peak growing season in August, the tea produces a light, malty and slightly floral cup - very typical of high quality Indonesian teas. This country is overlooked by many tea drinker, one of those teas to keep secret if you can. 


Moroccan Mint Black Tea

A wonderful combination of teas from Assam, Nilgiri, Kenya and China. When infused, the resultant brew yields an exquisite full bodied, malty, fruity taste with slight hints of floral and oak. Our Anytime Tea as the name suggests, is a very flexible blend that can be enjoyed anytime. 


In using a Flowery Pekoe tea from the Dimbula region in Ceylon ( Sri Lanka) this Decaffeinated English Breakfast is full of body. Our high quality Ceylon tea is used as it retains its flavour better than others whilst undergoing the natural CO2 decaffeination process. With a balanced astringency and lovely floral notes, it truly makes a wonderful breakfast tea.


Welsh Breakfast Blend Black Tea 

Welsh  Breakfast Tea is certainly a high class tea to be savoured and enjoyed. Picture those mornings when there's just enough time to pause before the busy day ahead and a peaceful calm surrounds - well that's the ambience each sip of Welsh  Breakfast Tea will provide. A careful blend of Assam and Kenyan black teas are mixed with a sprinkle of calming Safflower petals to produce a wonderful, full bodied tasting tea with a slight mellow astringency.


ASSAM 

This Assam blend is a great English breakfast blend. The Assam tea bushes grow in a low laying region of the Brahmaputra river valley which has a clay soil rich in nutrients of the floodplain. The climate is cool and dry in the winter and hot and humid throughout the rainy season ( summer) ideal for growing tea. Because of the lengthy growing season and heavy rainfall Assam is a prolific tea producing area. This Top Grade Flowery Orange Pekoe (FGFOP-1) second flush tea come from sum of the best tea estate in Assam Behora tea estate Harmutty tea estate Khongea tea estate Dikon, Hallialla and Mokalban tea estates This tea has a high caffeine content intense flavour idea for that first cupa in the morning.


Lahidzan TGFOP Persian Black Tea 

Tea found its way to Persia from India through the Silk Road and soon became Iran's national drink. Iranians have one of the highest per capita rates of tea consumption in the world and from old times every street has had a Châikhâne (Tea House). Tea houses are still an important social place in Iran.


Tea cultivation in Iran dose not have a long history like India or china, but the climate of northern Iran, which has  substantial  rainfall and is mountainous,  provides this great product. Iranian tea is one of the cleanest teas in the world as pesticides are not used in its cultivation. The mountainous climate of northern Iran is greatly effective in the improvement of taste of tea and, moreover, allows plants to be free of pests, which is one of the reasons for not using pesticides.


Tukdah TGFOP Darjeeling 

Tukdah tea estate employs over 800 people who are all well cared for with free housing, schooling, hospital care and places of worship. Situated high in the hills, the estate produces over 200 metric tons of finished tea each year to a very high standard. Darjeeling TGFOP is very bright and full of flavour that bursts with characteristic muscatel flavour and a hint of nuttiness - a really excellent 1st Flush Darjeeling.


Sarnia Estate 

The Malwatte Valley plantations have the finest teas in Ceylon. Sarnia Estate is situated in the Uva province and is one of the best know Malwatte estates. Teas produced in this part of Ceylon are picked between July and September covering the quality season. Sarnia is a very well know tea garden that produces excellent black teas , with copper thin leaves of malt aroma and flavour , which gives the dark red infusion a strong and sweetish tea that makes an excellent morning tea. Ingredients 100% Sarnia Estate Black Tea ( Ceylon ) Brewing tips 2-3g per 200ml hot water 85c-95c for 2-4 minutes.

Rose Garden

Rose Garden is a Ceylon Black tea flavoured with Damascus rose petals and flowers, it smells just like Turkish delight very sweet and fragrant.

Green Tea


Genmaicha Green Tea 

This premium quality Japanese Genmaicha tea with roasted rice is grown using traditional method's, only picked during the spring using young/ small and slightly opened leaves . This Genmaicha is traditionally made from sencha, with this blend balancing the astringency of Green tea with the mild nutty flavours of the roasted rice A great gateway into green teas.


Japanese Sencha Green Tea 

Enjoy the smooth, rich flavour of this premium, traditional Japanese Sencha. Commonly used in Japanese tea ceremonies, sencha leaves have a distinctive glossy look and feel that provide a rich and full flavour.


Sencha Green Tea 

Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan about 80% of the tea production is Sencha. sencha has relatively low levels of caffeine and catechins, this tea is steamed between 15- 30 seconds to prevent oxidation of the leaves. Then the leaves are rolled shaped and dried. Sencha has a high grassy flavour ( sometimes seaweed like) it has a unique vegetable / salty flavour. Depending on the temperature of the water this tea has markedly different flavours. High temp give more astringency Low temp gives more mellow notes.


Genmaicha  Popcorn Green Tea

A speciality Japanese green tea that's blended with fire toasted rice. High grade Japan sencha leaves provide the fresh vegetative character of green tea whilst the toasted rice brings a slightly nutty-like flavour and natural sweetness. A unique and delicious tasting tea.


Gunpowder Mint Green Tea .

This one is a Green Ceylon gunpowder mint tea  In using a Pekoe Gunpowder from the Uva district of Sri Lanka this tea has a lovely Smokey taste that infuses so well with the intense flavour of mint. The tea is refreshing and satisfying and tastes just as good as an iced tea too.


Ty Gung Yin ( Iron Goddess of Mercy )

This Chinese Oolong comes from the Wuyi mountains of China. It is a medium oxidized oolong below 35% , the leaves are then tightly curled into small beads each with a tail. The liquor is yellowish green and clear, repeated steeps gives a more intense colour but remains clear. The fragrance of fresh flowers precedes a unique fruity taste with light honey notes that become more noticeable with each sip.


Ty Guan Yin Oolong tea is grown in the Fujian province in China and has a number of wonderful, mythological tales surrounding its origin to be known as Iron Goddess of Mercy. As an Oolong, there are a number of grades and this premium Ty Guan Yin yields a sweet taste with a fragrant finish which makes it a very popular choice.


Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green Tea 

Jasmine Dragon Pearl is a green tea scented with rolled jasmine flower petals. The flavour of this tea is subtly sweet and highly fragrant, it is the most famous scented Chinese green tea. The tea is picked early in the spring to coincide with the flowering of the jasmine. The jasmine flowers are picked during the day and kept cool so as to keep the petals closed. Then at night the jasmine is laid out over the tea and the flowers open and release its fragrance. The scenting process can take up to seven nights with each scenting being around 5 hours. This process imparts scent plus moisture which means the tea must undergo a further drying process before its ready for use.


Dragon Pearls

This tea is a hand made rolled black tea from Yunnan China. It is the black tea version of Jasmine dragon pearls. This tea only uses the best possible leaves to make this tea so they have many of the golden tips ( buds) This tea is sweet smooth with a hint of earthiness and then followed by cocoa notes. Only use 2-3 pearls per cup and reinfuse again for a second time to get as slightly sweeter cup of tea.


Gunpowder Green Tea 

Temple Of Heaven ( Gunpowder ) Tea is a Chinese green tea in which the leaf is rolled into a small pellet like ball not unlike Victorian gunpowder. this tea date back to the Tan dynasty 618-907. Originally the tea was rolled by hand but now this is done by machines. The taste is grassy with floral notes that goes into fruity note with repeated infusions. This brings on the aroma of the forest.


Jasmine Sencha Green Tea 

This excellent Chinese sencha Green Tea is scented with the best quality jasmine aromas. This enriches the flavour and appearance of this sencha green tea, we have added a blend of dried jasmine flowers / petals to enhance both the flavour and aroma. We recommend this tea is taken after a meal as it has fantastic digestive and tummy calming properties. Brewing instructions 3-4gram per 200ml of water at 85c to 95c for 2-3minutes then increase the steeping times by 45 seconds each additional infusion.


Organic Bancha Green Tea 

This Bancha green tea is certified organic and from Guangwang China. Bancha Tea, is harvested from the same plants as Sencha , however Bancha Tea is picked latter in the season than Sencha. This gives a unique flavour with a strong straw aroma. This tea has less caffeine than sencha or other green teas but is higher in its catechins (catechins are responsible for many of the health benefits of green teas). Due to the latter harvest Bancha has a fuller bodied aroma and flavour than most green teas. As this tea is low in caffeine yet high in antioxidants it is an excellent choice for a afternoon tea.


White Tea


Silver Needle White Tea 

Silver needle ( Bai Hao Yin Zhan ) This silver needle white tea is a highly sought after tea, it comes from northern Fujian province in China. This tea is only harvested for a few week each spring and then only the unopened buds are plucked. this tea is processed only using traditional techniques so that it is as un processed as possible. The flavour is strong , durable and its taste is fresh with buttery notes then a nutty aftertaste along with hints of the forest.


Menglian Xngjlan  ( White downy ) White Tea 

White downy tea is a rear tea with fluffy white leaves. This tea comes from the Guagxi Provence of China This organic white tea is harvested in the early spring, only collecting the silver downy tip and leaves . These are hand picked using minimal processing so that the leaves undergo very little change once picked. White tea is one of the least grown tea and one of the hardest to harvest or cultivate . The taste is very fresh , flowery and slightly sweet with notes of chestnuts and honeysuckle/melons.


White Downy

White Downy is a rare and precious tea with beautiful fluffy white leaves from the Guangxi province.


Herbal Tea


Herbal Teas or Tisane, are consumed for their therapeutic  properties, as well as their relaxing and rejuvenating flavours these teas are made from herbs and plants  then served hot or cold. they can be made from roots, bark, flowers, leaves or fruits.


Camomile Flower Herbal Tea  

From some of  the worlds best  growing conditions of sandy loam and nutrients of the Nile we bring you the highest quality Egyptian Camomile Flowers. Renowned for its many health benefits, Camomile makes a great tea on its own but lends itself well to blends such as honey, lime and lemon to name but a few.


Rooibos ( Red Bush)

Rooibos grows exclusively in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. the red bush is very unlike traditional tea plants, it grows to around 3ft tall and has needle like leaves. Rooibos is a naturally caffeine free alternative to black tea it is rich in antioxidants ideal for those looking for a stimulant beverage without the caffeine.


Hibiscus Flowers 

Harvested in Egypt, and Nigeria  these Hibiscus flowers are resistant to drought and relatively easy to grow. Great as a blending component in herbal teas or brewed on its own as a tea, we are confident this hibiscus is some of the finest available in the world. Alone, hibiscus has a sweet, honey- like, fresh taste. Combined with other herbs or teas, hibiscus lends a floral character and slight astringency.


Nettle Leaf

Nettle Leaves, also known as stinging nettle, make a wonderful and refreshing herbal infusion. Over the years nettle leaf tea has been enjoyed by many and this premium leaf from  Poland and Bulgaria delivers a fresh aroma and a dark infusion with a pleasant, dry finish.


Peppermint  Leaf 

Outstanding peppermint leaves from the best cut of the season that produce a cool and pungent cup of tea bursting with minty flavour. Peppermint tea is a really refreshing drink, totally caffeine free that tastes just as good hot or cold, especially after meals.


Together Mint 

Together Mint is a truly refreshing blend combining peppermint and spearmint leaves with some added cool, blue cornflower petals for decoration. The taste is an amazing mint journey across your palette and is great served after meals or as a caffeine free refreshing drink anytime of day.


Christmas Chilli Blend 

Keep warm this festive season with a cup of Christmas Chilli ! A rich, burgundy, caffeine free infusion that bursts with fruity flavour and has a Reindeer's kick of chilli! Whilst not too hot (Reindeer's don't kick too hard we're told!!) the chilli taste is really good and very satisfying. Whole cloves and Star Anise bring some balancing spicy interest to provide an infusion experience that's different and very enjoyable.


Classic Rose Hip Shells

Rosehip has been used in Europe for many year as a great winter herbal tea. Just one ounce of concentrated Rosehip contains approximately the equivalent amount of Vitamin C you'd find in a dozen oranges! In addition, Rosehip contains many other vitamins and minerals. Rosehips are used as a base for herb and fruit infusions, Rose hips blend well producing a lively cup when mixed with hibiscus petals and dried fruits. One of those herbal teas to have ready at the back of your cupboard.

 

Sleep Easy

This tea is recommended for those of us who are finding it difficult to sleep. It contains the following Rooibos with its soothing, relaxing properties, Lemon Balm leaf/ lavender flowers both for there calming effects. Then add Apple, Hibiscus flower, Candied Orange, Raspberry leaf, peppermint, Chamomile sunflower & rose petals what more to like. One of my best bedtime beverages.


SARNIA PLAIDERIE, TGFOP-1 ORTHODOX. 

The Malwatte Valley Plantations are grower, manufacturer and exportor of some of the finest teas that Ceylon produces. All its plantations are situated in the Uva Province. Sarnia Estate is one of the most known of their estates.  Teas produced in Malwatte Valley  are sought after by buyers from around the world. Sarnia Estate is the popular and very well-known Plantation for producing excellent black tea: OP-1 orthodox big leaves and BOP-1 with broken leaves. This particular tea is made in orthodox way, it means leaves are processed by hands and are not broken. It is very exclusive and rare tea. Black and copper thin leaves of malt aroma and flavour give the dark-red, deep colour of infusion. Strong but well balanced soup is offering smoothness without strong bitterness.  As most of Sarnia Plaideria teas are excellent on there own, but some milk and/or brown sugar or honey will highlights its taste.


Decaffeinated Breakfast

This classic breakfast tea with a pleasant but mild astringency, that moves into a sweet floral aroma has a vibrant cooper liquor. This decaffeinated tea is based on FP ( Flowery Pekoe ) and it hails from Ceylon Dumbala region , high in the mountains above Ceylon's capital. This means the tea is free from all pesticides. Our producer has given us a fantastic decaffeinated tea that gives a medium body and balanced astringency. I think you will be unable to identify this tea as a decaffeinated tea.

Rose hip is a herbal berry that comes from the wild rose once picked and dried the shells are full of vitamin C.

Raspberry  & Wild  Strawberry  Fruit Tea

Luxury natural dried whole pieces Raspberry and Wild Strawberry with hibiscus, rose peel, raisins, chokeberry (fruit composition 60%, content raspberries 7%), Natural flavours.


Fruit tea in some circles are considered a new type of tea. We formulated this blend to accommodate tastes of people who wanted to experience a refreshing healthy new style drink without caffeine. This fruit tea is one of our favourites. It is a full flavoured tea with good body. 

By virtue of the fact that these blends do not contain any tea and are a special blend of fruits - they are caffeine free! An added benefit is that these teas contain Vitamin C. What could be better - a healthy drink that tastes GREAT!
